Middletown High School South Eagles Hall of Fame Announces Class of 2007

MIDDLETOWN, NJ – The members of the Middletown High School South Eagles Hall of Fame are proud to announce that they have voted on their third group of inductees to enter the Eagles Hall of Fame.  The class of 2007, which consists of 8 superior student athletes and two teams, will be honored at a banquet and induction ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 28, 2007.

The Eagles Hall of Fame Class of 2007 includes:

 

Frank Bennett ‘97 Basketball, Football                                Tara Christie Kinsey ’93 Softball    

Darren Fenster ’96 Baseball                                                 Tara Froehlich ’01 Track, Soccer                

David Harrington ’79 Basketball                                          Joe Little ’93 Football

Katie Pachuta ’01 Track                                                        Scott Walters ’87 Wrestling

1996 Baseball Team                                                              1998 Girls Cross Country Team

 
“We are very excited about this year’s class of inductees.  They represent some of the most accomplished student athletes that have donned the blue and silver of the Middletown South Eagles. All of the 8 inductees have earned First Team All-State, All-Shore or All-County recognition in their sport and a few have earned All-American recognition.  In addition, we are excited to honor the 1996 Baseball Team which was South’s most accomplished baseball team having won both the State and Shore Conference Championships in 1996 as well as the 1998 Girls Cross Country team which were ranked 20th in the Nation in 1998.” stated Andrea Ashuck Mrusek, Hall of Fame President and 2005 Inductee.

The 3rd Annual Eagles Hall of Fame Banquet and Induction Ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 pm on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Middletown High School South, The Commons.  The event will exemplify true Eagles spirit and will feature dinner, a formal induction ceremony, athlete speeches, awards presentations, a highlight DVD, music and more!  After the Banquet and Induction Ceremony, a short ceremony will be held to formally recognize the Class of 2007 during half time of the Eagles Hall of Fame Football Game where the State Champion Eagles will take on Wall.  “This is an event for the whole community to enjoy.”  stated Andrea Ashuck Mrusek, Hall of Fame President. The Banquet and Induction Ceremony is expected to draw approximately 300 attendees including political and community leaders, Middletown Township school principals, faculty and students as well as family and friends of the 2007 inductees.

The Middletown South Eagles Hall of Fame is a non-profit school organization, which was founded by the community and sanctioned by the Middletown School District in 2005.  It’s mission is to bring the community together for an Annual Banquet & Induction Ceremony where formal recognition will be paid to the outstanding players, coaches, and teams for their accomplishments to the various Middletown South athletic programs over the past 31 years.
