PHOTO: Free mini-lessons in a single shell are one of the hands-on activities available when Navesink River Rowing hosts Learn-to-Row Day on Sunday, June 23, 9 am - 1 pm. Their newly re- opened site is located at the end of Maple Ave in Red Bank.
Red Bank NJ – Sunday, June 23rd is Learn-to-Row Day at Navesink River Rowing. From 9 am - 1 pm, visitors to the newly re-opened NRR site, at the end of Maple Ave (off West Front St) in Red Bank, NJ, can enjoy a variety of fun, hands-on, rowing-related activities. The entire event is free and open to the public.
NRR has been offering men, women and teens affordable access to all aspects of the sport of rowing since 1983. The group maintains a fleet of boats for members to use from May through late October and provides lessons, coaching and summer youth programs in June, July & early August.

MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Patrick Garner as “Mr. Edison” will be at the Middletown Township Public Library on Tuesday, July 23rd at 7:30 pm for a fun-filled presentation about his life, his inventions and the lessons those inventions taught him! Children volunteer to join the “The Wizard of Menlo Park” onstage to act as his “Insomnia Squad.” All children are involved in this highly interactive presentation.
Come meet the man with 1093 US Patents including the Phonograph, the Light Bulb, the Motion Picture Projector , the Universal Stock Ticker, the Alkaline Battery, Talking Dolls, Improved Cement Manufacturing , Electric Generators, the Electric Train, the Tattoo Pen, Wax Paper and all their subsequent manufacturing processes. The Non-Patented but very necessary Modern Research Laboratory! Some historians credit him with inventing the Twentieth Century! Mr. Edison's life & inventions will be used to illustrate “THE FOUR LESSONS OF EDISON”.

Marlboro, NJ - The New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners (NJAWBO) Shore Region was pleased to present the 3rd Annual Donna Myers Entrepreneurial Scholarship on May 23rd with a check for $500 to Amanda Kocheran. Amanda was the perfect recipient. Amanda, turning 19 in August, is a full-time student attending Brookdale Community College. The New Jersey Association of WOMEN Business Owners (NJAWBO) is the oldest statewide organization in New Jersey with a mission to address the concerns and issues of business ownership by women. The organization’s objectives are to encourage and support business ownership by women, enable women business owners to network, provide a legislative voice for the interests of women-owned businesses and provide entrepreneurial training and assistance. Since its founding in 1978, the organization has grown to 12 chapters across the state.
