MIDDLETOWN, NJ - Monmouth County Historical Association invites you to join us for a celebration of the birthday of King George III on Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Marlpit Hall (circa 1756), 137 Kings Highway in Middletown, New Jersey from 1:00 to 4:00 in the afternoon.
Within the British Empire, including the American Colonies, celebration of the King's birthday was one of the social events of the year. Come and see how this day might have been celebrated in the home of Loyalist Edward Taylor. Historical re-enactors dressed as Edward and wife, Mary Ogborne Taylor will welcome guests. Enjoy musical entertainment of the period played on the harpsichord and recorder, as presented by "The Practitioners of Musick" with John Burkhalter of Princeton.
