Parent Forum at RBR: Surviving the Teen Years
Little Silver, NJ - On
Thursday, April 17, the Red Bank Regional High School (RBR) and the Shrewsbury
Alliance invites parents from all communities
to partake in a very important conversation. Panelists with expertise in
guidance, law, and psychology will discuss ways for parents to survive the most
challenging times of their parenting-the teenage years.

"It takes more than luck. It takes
awareness, fortitude and empowerment. We sincerely hope parents will come to
this very important event," states Karen Lloyd, Chairman of the Shrewsbury
Alliance and event organizer.
The forum will be held at RBR
Commons at 7 pm. Refreshments are generously donated by area businesses. Gilda
Rogers, The Source Coordinator at RBR, will moderate the event.

topics to be discussed at this open forum include:

Teens
and driving, including information on provisional license requirements

Teens
and the Internet, touching on the subjects of cyberbullying, invasion of
privacy, party pictures...etc.

Current
Trends in Adolescent Behavior-self esteem issues, dating, eating
disorders... etc.

Teens
and Substance Abuse -- marijuana, extreme drinking and abuse of prescription
drugs; parental liability for hosting parties with underage drinking

Teens
and Stress-the competitive college application process and tips on helping
your child transition from middle school to high school and high school to
college.
Panelists include:
A representative from Barnes and
Nobel in Long Branch
will be at the forum with copies of numerous recommended reference materials
for purchase.
