ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS -- The borough's Democratic Organization is again opening up its process for selecting candidates for Borough Council by inviting residents to submit the names persons interested in running.
Two, three-year terms on the Council are at stake in this year's November election.
Persons either interested in running on the Democratic ticket or those
wishing the make recommendations are urged to act swiftly by contacting
Councilman Roy Dellosso, the Democratic municipal chairman, at 732
291-3830 or 732 687-0596. The deadline for selecting and filing
candidates is April 7.
Potential candidates will be asked to submit a letter of interest and a
resume and will be expected to meet with members of the Democratic
organization.
Candidates will be officially selected in the June 3 Democratic Primary Election.
The political control of Council is at stake in Nov. 4 General
Election. The Council currently consists of a Republican mayor, four
Republican councilmen and two Democratic councilmen.
