Norma Wokas, Highlands’s resident, Artist, and
Twin Lights Bridge
supporter, has recently completed over a dozen new portraits of our Historic
Drawbridge, and will be hosting an exhibit of her works on Saturday, April 26,
from 5PM to 7PM, at the Renaissance Emporium, 81 First Ave., Atlantic Highlands, NJ, phone 732-291-9101.
A portion of the sales
will go towards the legal Fund of the Citizens for Rational Coastal Development,
a grass- roots organization demanding repair, not demolition, of the historic
Drawbridge. We hope to see you there.

Over 1500 Worshippers Expected to Attend
Marlboro, NJ - Sri Guruvayoorappan Temple, in Morganville NJ, will be holding its Official Bhoomi Puja (Ground Breaking Ceremony) on April 19, 2008. The ceremony will take place from 8am to 1pm at the Temple grounds. The event marks the beginning of the Temple Construction Project. Over 1500 people are expected to attend. Members of the congregation have roots from all over India.

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - The Atlantic Highlands First Aid Squad's Marine Rescue Unit recently rushed through the dark to the aid of a boat smashed against the break wall in the borough's harbor.
The incident unfolded just hours after the squad's crew readied the rescue vessel for the upcoming season.
"We invest heavily in our water rescue program, said captain Jerry Pandolfo. "Our members train year round for this type of event."
