david_prown_120I knew the Queen Latifah/Dolly Parton movie couldn't possibly receive great critical acclaim. HOWEVER, good singing is good singing and that is exactly what I wanted in a movie yesterday...I just wanted to smile, move and be entertained.

I took my pre-movie nap, had a nice meal at Wendy's and wore my jacket.

Plus I was

pretty sure (I was right) that the theatre won't be crowded at all.

I love great singing and dancing. It is why I loved Fame, Dream Girls and Rent. On the TV side of the ledger, I'll always watch American Idol and Glee. Just LOVE great singing.

"Joyful Noise" shocked me as the the great singing did not come from Queen and Dolly (though they were good). Who the heck is Keke Palmer (who is dream

singer) and Jeremy

Jordan. Those 2 had voices that left you speechless and wonderfully entertained.

There are "So Many" great singing numbers in this film. I was smiling ear to ear the entire time.

There is a story behind the movie which ties in love, family angst, rivalries, church etc which is nice and "not" distracting"...It is all about the songs and it was well worth the $10 and then some.

Go to a big theatre with the best sound system.

fun, fun, fun
