david_prown_120My only anxiety about seeing "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was that it was near 2 1/2 hours long. But I took a heck of a nap and was ready.

I don't often happen to have read a movie's book, but this one I did a few years ago. I remember taking a while to read it, was a bit complicated but somehow sucked you in as it moved along.

The movie was terrific right from the beginning. It was very dark, cold, calculating, a bit confusing in terms of the family members, and fabulously acted. No doubt Daniel Craig and Christopher Plummer can dominate the screen. But Rooney Mara (somehow related to the Mara/NY Giants Football family) slaughters the role. She is the perfect vision, soul, disposition of the Lisbeth Salander.

This is a murder mystery/whodunnit set in mostly freezing cold/dark Sweden. Lots of intrigue that just carries you right along towards the quest of solving a 40 year old murder.

I'm not going to say anymore except it was TERRIFIC. You surely don't have to had read the book to enjoy. Please go see on the big screen.

It has its brutal parts which explains the family and the mysterious Lisbeth, but is absolutely essential. Miss Mara has to be up for an Oscar with this role.
