THANK GOD FOR OUR SERVICEMEN

President Bush had it right. Last year, he made a surprise visit on Thanksgiving Day to our soldiers in Iraq. He went to Iraq to show support for our troops and to let them know that America is thinking about them.

America thinks about them because they are promoting freedom. The soldiers are on the front line of a difficult mission, a mission to show the world that a democracy can flourish anywhere- even in the Middle East. The Bush doctrine relies on the will of the people, anyone who tastes democracy will chose our form of government over any other system.

Democracy in Iraq will not come cheap, but democracy never has. Over the years, we have fought many wars and our soldiers have defended our way of life, because America treasures its freedom. We can have differences over who should govern our country or run our states, but there are no objections to our form of government.

For that, we should give thanks this week. We live in the greatest country under the greatest system that mankind has ever conceived. We need to remember the soldiers that have given their lives for us to gather in peace and the soldiers that are currently serving our country promoting our way of life. Thank god for the men defending our country and give thanks for living in the good old USA.
