Lincroft, NJ – Brookdale photography student Judit Papp, Rumson, will showcase her nature photography in an exclusive exhibition, “Tura Natura” on January 8 at NovelTeas, 78 Bridge Avenue, Red Bank. The Hungarian born talent will donate the proceeds from her silent auction photography sales to benefit ALS-TDI, the world’s largest Lou Gehrig’s disease (ALS) research center. Additionally, all who attend are welcome to enter a free drawing for a framed photograph of Monument Valley, Arizona, taken near the Grand Canyon.
“The photograph series I have selected for this exhibit will showcase America’s beauty as captured during my cross country trip” explained Papp.
Papp has lived in Rumson with her sponsor family, the Callahans, for three years. Pamela Callahan has had ALS for the past four years and her illness was the inspiration for the event.
Sponsors include the Callahan family, Kim Widener, Copper Canyon, the Nicholson family, Traci Turi, the Brand family and Sickles Market.

Nation’s largest motor club offers ways to avoid holiday season breakdowns
Hamilton, NJ - AAA anticipates it will come to the rescue of more than 1.4 million stranded motorists nationally during the Christmas and New Year’s holiday peak driving period. Locally, AAA Mid-Atlantic will come to the rescue of more than 6,800 stranded motorists a day, throughout its service territory in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
From highways to mall parking lots, AAA expects to be busy across the country during the holidays with battery replacements and jump starts, changing tires, extricating vehicles from snow, towing vehicles for repair and more.
“Whether on your way to grandma’s house or the mall for last-minute shopping, car trouble can quickly dampen your holiday spirit,” said Tracy E. Noble, spokesperson for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “AAA expects to come to the rescue of more than 1.4 million stranded motorists around the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, but many of those breakdowns can be avoided with a touch of preventive maintenance.”

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ – On Friday, December 3 over 200 people enjoyed The Arc of Monmouth’s 44th Annual Winter Glow Ball.
This year the agency honored Steve “Biddy” Bidgood, regional partner of the Salt Creek Grille in Rumson and Princeton. Mr. Bidgood is a recognized leader in the food industry. His success is largely due to his enduring passion for the world of food and beverage, and his genuine love for the community he serves. He supports many local non-profit organizations throughout the year including The Arc of Monmouth.

Keeping with tradition, the ball was held at the Shore Casino in Atlantic Highlands. Guests enjoyed an elaborate cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing. In addition, a thrilling live auction and silent auction took place.

RED BANK, NJ - Beginning January 6, 2011, the Artists’ Workshop at the Red Bank Public Library will welcome Joe Bergholm as Artist-in-Residence. Artists seeking inspiration, motivation, and time to devote to their work are invited to attend the Artists’ Workshop on the first Thursday of each month from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the library. Joe will be working with the artists as a group and individually, offering suggestions for subjects as well as guidance with principles of art such as color, composition, and the selection and use of materials.
Joe Bergholm, a Red Bank Resident, is a gallery represented and award winning artist. His work is held in private, municipal, and corporate collections. He has always been involved with art, having grown up in a family of artists. He also earned a Ph.D. in engineering and had a distinguished technical career with Bell Laboratories and AT&T.
Since retiring, Joe Bergholm has returned to art full time. He is president of the Plein Air Painters of the Jersey Coast (www.thepapjc.com) and teaches the use of Golden OPEN Acrylics for Plein Air and studio painting. Joe is a registered teacher with the School of Color (SoC), U.S.A.
