middletown reformed churchMIDDLETOWN, NJ - The Middletown Reformed Church invites you to Palm Sunday worship at 10:30 AM on March 25th. Rev. Tricia Sheffield's sermon is titled "Into Jerusalem."

The Joyful Noise Adult Choir's anthems are "Ride On, King Jesus" and "The Palms". The New Jericho Children's Choir will sing "Shout, Sing, Celebrate!" with brass bell accompaniment.

Food for Fines Program at County Libraries

food drive shelvesSHREWSBURY, NJ – Eastern Branch Library, together with all the branches and headquarters libraries of the Monmouth County Library, will once again conduct their Food for Fines program during National Library Week April 8 through April 14.

The Food for Fines program invites library users who are delinquent in returning library materials to do so without having to pay the penalty for delinquency so long as they bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the April to Fulfill food drive for each dollar of late fees owed during that week.

Donations do not cover lost or damaged library materials, nor food items past their expiration date, in glass containers, separated from multipacks, sample size, or non-perishable. Donations do include packages of household paper products.

Two Special Community Worship Services in Atlantic Highlands

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS, NJ - This year, the Area Association of Community Churches will be observing Holy Week with two services. The first will be the Stations of the Cross on Good Friday, March 30. It will begin at St. Paul Baptist Church at noon. Congregants will process to Central Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, the United Methodist Church, and Kings Highway Faith Fellowship. You are welcome to stay for the entire service, or worship at just one church. Pastors and musicians from Calvary Chapel, Central Baptist Church, St. Paul Church, All Saints Memorial, First Presbyterian, and the United Methodist Church will preach on the last words of Christ and perform the beautiful music of Lent.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties to Host Tutu 2.2 with RunCollege

tutu asburyASBURY PARK, NJ — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties, in partnership with RunCollege, is holding their 2nd Annual Tutu 2.2 event at the Asbury Park Biergarten on April 8, 2018 at 9:22 A.M. Participants can choose to run or walk and pre-registered entries will receive a tutu and t-shirt to wear at the event.

All participants of the 2.2 mile run or walk are encouraged to wear a tutu and enjoy the day! Have fun with this race by adding your own personal touches to your outfit. Awards will be presented for Best Costume, in addition to the top 10 male and female finishers. Registration is still open online at www.TutuRuns.com through April 7. On-site registration is also available on race day.

Fed-Ex Truck Strikes Railway Overpass in Holmdel

holmdel fedex rail overpass 1HOLMDEL, NJ -  This afternoon at 1:14 pm, a tractor trailer that was traveling on Laurel Avenue struck the New Jersey Transit railroad bridge, slicing the trailers roof off.

There were no other vehicles involved, the driver of the tractor trailer was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.
